Album Info:The CSX Peninsula Subdivision is the former Chesapeake & Ohio route from Richmond to Newport News, Virginia. The majority of traffic is coal from the Appalachian coal mine to the coal piers of the Chesapeake Bay. This line also sees two rock trains from the quarries around Richmond to various aggregate distributors. Williamsburg local serves the Busch brewery and refinery in Yorktown located on the Amoco Branch. At the terminus of the Peninsula Subdivision is the Hampton Branch, which is covered in another album - CSX Hampton Branch. Photos in this album are organized by location from West to East beginning in Richmond.
