Album Info:This album features pictures of trains that Ethan, Nick, and I caught on a two day spread of trains around Central/Northeast Indiana. First day we were in the Logansport area then the 2nd day we worked from Logansport east. This album features 1st day shots. Enjoy!

Description:  NS 34N sits at the east side of Clymers awaiting permission to continue east. Today Nick is back in town and Ethan, him, and I are all meeting up for our usual Christmas Break outing. Today we are working Logansport and tomorrow we will work east to Ossian and end the day in Huntingon at Pizza Junction. Very cold the next two days, highs only reaching to single didgits. Aunt Susie and I got a late start, but thankfully for us a section of rail broke between Logansport and Clymers so we hadnt missed much. What we did miss though (but also Ethan and Nick included because it was so early) was an eastbound coal train led by UP 1996, the Southern Pacific heritage unit. We got there around noon, which caused us to miss a TPW train led by IM 61, an SD20. But oh well, you dont get them all. We started the day in Clymers.

Description:  We all met up and waited for the action to start slowly picking up after the rail was repared at Clymers. After some waiting, NS 14E came east with NS 6722 leading.

Description:  Next we moved into town and began watching trains at 18th St. while Nicks mom and my Aunt went to shop and grab us some lunch at Happy Burgers. After some more waiting, NS 18K came into town with an interesting power trio.

Description:  FXE 4085 is the 2nd Ferromex unit in the lineup. Just like earlier in the year when we saw NS 1068, this one got Nick pretty excited. Guess it did for Ethan too. I honestly would have preffered them to lead but still pretty neat. First ones Ive seen in a while!

Description:  UP 2633 leads NS 181 west through Logansport. I was originally going to try to get a shot of it sweeping around the curve, but then decided not to at the last second. By that point it was a little too late. Had to make the best of what I got.

Description:  After NS 121 passed, we decided to call it a day in Logansport because Ethan had a pickup at Jims store, "The Train Exchange" in Kokomo so we decided to head that way. First though we tool a pit stop at Lincoln, IN to see GMTX 412. This is US Rails 2nd unit, but it hasnt run for nearly 2 years. They sure do keep it looking nice though. They have even added Christmas Lights to it for the Christmas Season!

SLRG 101
Title:  SLRG 101
Description:  We moved onto Kokomo and by total suprise, ITM had their Polar Bear Express Train out on the mainline. Recently, the Indiana Transportation Museum relocated from Noblesville to Logansport after the town of Noblesville kicked them out. Equipment will soon start slowly moving to Logansport. But for the meantime, for the Christmas Season, Iowa Pacific has leased SLRG 101 (ex-IC 101) to ITM to use on their Polar Bear Express train between Kokomo and Logansport. The train will run next week then it will be done for the season after running for most of the weekends in December. I was wanting to catch it after not being able to get down to see it any of the weekends it was doing trips. The only reason it is out on the mainline now is because a grain train must have arrived from NS today to Kokomo Grain where the train was being kept while it was not running. Pretty neat to see it!

Description:  Would have been neat to have seen the whole set when CN still ran it for their business train. Thats been out of service now for almost 6 years. Glad to see it though here! Hopefully ITM can get their equipment all moved and we will continue to see things such as this.

Description:  One final shot of The Polar Bear Express before going to The Train Exchange to get Ethans engine. We would close the evening out with this final train. Aunt Susie and I would stay in the Holiday Inn in Logansport then pick up Nick and Ethan early the next morning heading to Ossian. Nine trains recorded today. Not too good, not too bad, but some nice catches. Hope for the same tomorrow!
