Album Info:Here are seven original black & white photos of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives and trains. All of them were taken by an unidentified photographer in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, 31 August 1954. All were purchased via a single eBay auction conducted by Mr. Robert Anderson on Friday, 17 November 2023. The locomotive road numbers are provided when available.

Description:  Anderson. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 31 August 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5141, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as number "1138" during August of 1913, renumbered "5141" in 1915, and retired in October of 1956 after 43 years of faithful service. The name of the person pictured at the right is not recorded. (#1 of 7)

Shown here across Burgoon Run is a 17-car Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train. Pulled by three diesel-electric locomotives built by GM-EMD, it's about to round the Curve on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Johnstown and points West. (#6 of 7)
