Description:
KCS 2950 leads another 2900-series engine and several cars east through Mexico, MO on 7-10-2013. This was a very cloudy day and I couldn't make the computer software do justice to the KCS gray color.

Title:
OVRR 1306, fireman's/conductor's sidie
Description:
Ozark Valley 1306 has an orange and black, or navy blue, or very dark green, paint scheme. This was a very cloudy day and I doubt the computer software could figure out the dark or trim color. Sure did a good job on that orange, though--looks quite a bit like BNSF orange or perhaps a bit darker than CSX's M-o-W "pumpkin" orange of several years ago. Mexico, MO: 7-10-2013.

This unit clearly shows its heritage as an original GP-7. The three louvers on the battery box under the cab and the other louver arrangements on the long hood are classic GP-7. The dynamic brake blister has been paneled over or closed in. Mexico, MO: 7-10-2013.

Description:
SIRX 95468, is headed east as part of a KCS freight on 7-10-2013 in Mexico, MO. This was a very cloudy day and I am convinced it threw off my computer's software in trying to match the exact shade of green on this car. To me it looks like Penn Central "jade" green with some blue added to it. Anyway, the green and gold trim was a welcome break from all the grays and yellows of so many other covered hoppers!

Westbound signal
Description:
The train has departed but the signal still shows red for stop or stop and proceed. This signal seems to be relatively new, as I thought the old ex-Wabash "searchlight" type of signals had been here before. Also notice the different sizes, colors, and textures of the rock (ballast and gravel) in the photo. Signal 121.4 is just east of Centralia, MO.
