Description:  Long before an SD40 unit carred the Canadian National number 6011, this beautiful 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive had the priviledge. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in July of 1923 (serial #1707, class U-1-a), this loco served until being scrapped in October of 1958. Note the "elephant ear" smoke deflectors that give it a European look. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 354,300 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb. No photographer was listed.
