Title:  PRR 5434, K-4S, c. 1948
Description:  AW. Here is an image of a photo by Arlington J. Wolfe that was taken from the 17th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1948. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5434, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1927 and retired in March of 1950 after 23 years of faithful service. It's parked just West of the Passenger Station awaiting its next passenger helper run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where it will be uncoupled and returned to this location for another helper run up "The Mountain." William E. Burket Collection.
