Amtrak 2923 at Polk Street in Chicago, Illinois on October 13, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 2923 was built by Budd in 1950 as a 10 Roomette 6 Bedroom (10-6) sleeper for the UP named PACIFIC PARK and numbered 1430. It became AMTK 2623 and upon conversion from steam heat to HEP was renumbered 2923. In April 1998 it was converted to a sleeper dormitory and renumbered 2511, retired in June 2006. |
