Two N&W U30Bs handle a short pig train eastbound on the EL main between Mansfield and Ashland. This is the New York Cannonball, a Dereco-era E. St. Louis-Croxton (NJ) N&W-EL run-through via Huntington, IN. Note the two ice bunker refrigerator cars in the consist. Date of photo approximate.

Kevin Nelson General Great shot, I dont know this area, but I do remember seeing N&W getting on the EL at Huntington, IN, then proceeding east toward Marion, OH with a new crew. 1/22/2009 2:36:42 PM
David Harbaugh General This is likely the St.Louis Cannonball, a DERECO-era NW-EL run-thru train, St. Louis-Croxton via Huntington, Indiana. Read somewhere traffic never measured up to management expectations and the train was discontinued sometime after Hurricane Agnes forced the EL into bankruptcy. 1/22/2009 5:25:19 PM
