The original locomotive built on the Mt Clare premises in 1832 had a vertical boiler with its long vertical rods that "danced like a grasshopper's legs". The original "Atlantic" was scrapped in 1835 while a later model, "Andrew Jackson", was renamed the "Atlantic" for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. |
