Rare bird  Contributor's Pick!
Really rare. Conrail had four U36Bs, units built for Auto Train that the car carrier could not pay for, so CR picked them up. They were based at Selkirk and used almost exclusively on the Hudson(I frequently saw them at Fresh Pond on the LIRR) and River Lines. They almost never ran anywhere else. Finding one in Binghamton was highly unusual, but, as sometimes happens with things that "never happen", here it is.
