Tom Beckett	General	I'd guess from the greenery, some time in June. The train is one of the remaining Rockets, the two that were left then were Peoria and Quad Cities. As I recall, they left Chicago about 20 minutes apart, Peoria going out at 5:55, Quad Cities going at 6:15. I have a shot of the Quad Cities Rocket at La Salle St with 655 and two cars. When I was there in August that year, they had just started running the F 40's, and the two Rockets were the only trains using Rock power.	12/30/2015 2:41:00 AM

Rock Island 650 Slide
Rock Island E-8 #650 pulls a short two-car train out of La Salle Street Station in mid-1978. Taken from the Roosevelt Ave. bridge. Not sure on the month or day, the slide just says 1978.
