Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 30 August 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5557, a BS-10A switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in February of 1950 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. Partially visible beyond the string of newly-reconditioned gondolas at the right is the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop. Photo taken near the Yard Master's Office, at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. |
