Electric Scrap. Here is an original photo that I took in Frankstown, Pennsylvania, on 1 April 1962. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4777 and #4743. Both are P-5A Modified (2-C-2) electrics built in February of 1935 and rated at 3,750 horsepower each. #4777 was built by General Electric, but #4743 was built by Baldwin-Westinghouse. They're parked on the track leading directly into the PRR's Reclamation Plant. Next! |
