Gallitzin. Here is an original (blurry) photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, on 13 September 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2200, #2201, #2207, #7187, #7004, #2514, and #2248. #2200 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are about to enter one of the westbound tunnels at Gallitzin with a 125-car merchandise freight train. Visible in the foreground is the New Portage Secondary Track leading to Hollidaysburg, just before it merges into the mainline. |
