Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania, during a railfan excursion on 23 May 1947. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8259, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company during August of 1916 and retired in February of 1959 after 43 years of faithful service. Many thanks to Mr. Jim Boylan for identifying this location correctly. Roy Healey Collection; #9 of 12. |
