Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 30 September 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8110, a BS-12AMS road switcher built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton as number "8110" in February of 1954, rated at 1,200 horsepower, and renumbered "8085" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. In this context, it's poised to pull a commuter train out of the 30th Street Station. ("LouisFols"; #12 of 26) |
