Technically a Conrail inherited unit, it actually went from the EL roster to the Conrail scrap line. Built by Alco in December of 1949 as steam generator equipped Erie #1002, it slid into the EL roster renumbered 952 before meeting the scrapper's torch under Conrail ownership. An unknown photographer caught its last moments. No exact date in 1979 was given for the photo. |
