Checkerboard in Cleveland         
Conrail no. 6278 is one of four Snowbird-painted C628s still in service with the Lehigh Valley at the time of Conrail's formation. Interesting how the flag patch more or less matches the shape, definitiely more careful than the black dip this loco would receive later. John C. Benson photo, from the Ralph L.
