PRR 830, K-4S, 1958
Burkey. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the 46th Street Enginehouse in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 30 July 1958. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #830, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1917 and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of faithful service. Note that its smokebox keystone, builder's badge, and main rods have been removed in preparation for movement to the Recycling Center. (#17 of 25)
