159 Leads OLS 203 Into San Jose
Amtrak 159 leads the southbound Coast Starlight into the station at San Jose. The train is running three minutes late today, an impressive feat for the "Starlate," which can be upwards of an hour late on many occassions. The P42DC was built in 2001 by General Electric, and is one of over 200 such units owned by Amtrak. They are the backbone of Amtraks long distance fleet, but are being phased out of service by new Siemens ALC-42 locomotives.
