CR 4800, GG-1, c. 1976         
Old Rivets. Here is an image of a photo of (L to R) Conrail engine #4800 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electrics rated at 4,620 horsepower each. #4800 was built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "4899" during August of 1934, renumbered "4800" in November of 1934, owned successively by Penn Central and Conrail, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. Edward Kaspriske Collection.
