Album Info:Nice group of color photos of New Jersey Transit E8A's taken by an unknown rail fan. Unfortunately, no location or exact day was given for any of the photos.

NJT E8A #4285 - New Jersey Transit
Title:  NJT E8A #4285 - New Jersey Transit
Description:  Originally built as NYC E8A 4080 in August of 1953, the loco survived the NYC/PC collapse and wound up in commuter service for the New Jersey Transit. After that service was over, the loco ended up back in the NYC lightning color scheme with RPCX #4080 as its number as of 2015 based on a photo in the RRPA database.. Unfortunately,no photographer, location or exact day in 1981 was given for the photo. With help from Steve Coraggio & Tom Beckett (see comments below), the location is now identified as South Amboy, NJ. Thanks guys for your help!!!

Title:  NJT E8A #4285 - New Jersey Transit
Description:  Here's another view of former NYC E8A #4080 serving in commuter service for the New Jersey Transit. According to photos in the RRPA database, this loco went on to a few other rosters and as late as 2015, it was back in the former NYC lighning stripe paint scheme while wearing the number RPCX #4080. Unfortunately,no photographer, location or exact day in 1981 was given for the photo. With help from Steve Coraggio & Tom Beckett (see comments below), the location is now identified as South Amboy, NJ. Thanks guys for your help!!!

Title:  NJT E8A #4248 - New Jersey Transit
Description:  Originally built at PRR #5788 in May of 1952, this loco passed through the Pennsylvania RR collapase and the Penn Central debacle to come out as power for the New Jersey cummter service. After NJT commuter service, the loco was still survivingUnfortunately,no photographer, location or exact day in 1982 was given for the photo. as URHS 835, albeit in very poor condition. With help from Steve Coraggio (see comment below), the location is now identified as the Matawan station. Thanks Steve for your help!!!

Title:  NJT E8A #4253 - New Uersey Transit
Description:  Here is photo taken by an unknown rail fan of NJT E9A #4253 in commuter service. Originally built as PRR 5793A in June of 1952, the loco has survived the PRR/PC collapse and commuter service on the NJT roster. As of 2023, it was in storage as CTVX 61 (Cleveland Terminal and Valley Rwy) Unfortunately,no photographer, location or exact date in 1982 was given for the photo. With help from Steve Coraggio (see comment below), the location is now identified as the Matawan station. Thanks Steve for your help!!!
