DMIR 2-8-8-4 #224 - Duluth, Missabee & Iron Range         
With a full head of steam and a loaded tender, this DMIR 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomtoive is ready for another day's assignment. History - Baldwin, 5/1941, serial #62530 After barely 21 years of service, the loco lasted until 1962 when it was sold for scrap. Specs - class M3, 63" drivers, 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 695,040, tractive effort of 140, 000 lb. There was no date, location or photographer listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used.
