Album Info:
Nice group of b&w photos of Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotives. These were mostly 10x6" photos with no location, date or photographer information. Any help in identifying the location would be appreciated. The photos were re-posted on 2/26/2025 after the RRPA crash.

this massive locomotive was built to handle the heavy iron ore drags in Minnesota. History - Baldwin, 5/1941 serial #62526 The loco lasted in service until being sold for scrap in 1962. Specs - class M3, 63" drivers, 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 695,040, tractive effort of 140, 000 lb.
